Current needs:

We are currently raising funds to help James Peth with his care.

On Sunday, August 1, 1999, while completing the final obstacle in a mountain biking adventure race, James broke his neck and sustained a severe spinal cord injury. James was rendered quadriplegic by the accident. Six months later, James founded the nonprofit, Rapid Motion, an organization dedicated to two goals: helping athletes with disabilities and increasing awareness of spinal cord injuries. Through various events and fundraising efforts, Rapid Motion raised more than $100,000 and sponsored dozens of athletes to pursue their endeavors. Two decades later, James created Amicitia Reciproca help to raise awareness of and funds for unmet needs in his community, including his own, and to train volunteers who want to help. Despite generous support from existing programs, out-of-pocket medical costs for individuals like James continue to be exorbitant. This includes uncovered overnight care, as well as most medical equipment and supplies. We are seeking direct contributions and matching to help him cover his costs for these items as he develops in his career.
